When is a Sat Nav not a Sat Nav

Well today was a bit of an adventure. We decided to play it safe and drive westwards along the south side of the Pyranees in order to evade the risk of snow at high altitude heading directly northwards form Jaca.

All good. What a sensible choice I hear you say. So we head westwards and get to Pamplona where, since the weather is really nice, we decide to head over the border and into France. The weather was extremely kind and was actually really nice. OK so far so good. Now once we are in Frasnce we fail to realise that our phone does not provide data in France. Instead of some warning of loss of connection the lovely sat nav lady continues to provide instructions. Like a complete plonker I follow them blindly and soon find myselkf thinking, "this cannot be the best way". However in for a penny in for a pound I continue to follow oblivious to the fact that she is randomly suggesting turn after turn.

After a short time I look out of the right hand window and see the most beautiful surf with surfers riding the waves. It was absoluetly picturesque. Now the geographically aware amongst you will know that if there is surfing happening out of the RIGHT hand side, in that area of the world, then you must be travelling SOUTH right??? Correctamondo. We were heading south instead of north. Not to worry, let's about turn. Oh oh! we face a low bridge. Once bitten twice shy I reverse back from the potential issue and choose another route. I think I probably had 3 feet to spare but I don't think I'll ever make that mistake again.

Soon we are heading once again in the correct direction and what's more feeling rather pleased with oneself. I switched from my phone to our satellite internet and once again the sat nav lady was providing the correct instructions.

We headed north to Arjuzanx (no idea how that is pronounced) to a site beside a lake. The sun is shining and all is good in our little world. Some pictures for you soon.

Take care D&S and MJ
